FINANCIAL services platform Mukuru has strengthened its long-term commitment to Zimbabwean cricket by extending its partnership with Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) until December 2027, ensuring its support continues through the country’s historic hosting of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
The renewed agreement will see Mukuru remain the front-of-shirt sponsor of the Zimbabwe Senior Men’s National Cricket Team across all international formats as the Chevrons prepare for one of the most significant periods in the nation’s cricket history.
The extension comes as Zimbabwe intensifies preparations for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which it will co-host alongside South Africa and Namibia.
Mukuru said the renewed partnership reflects a broader commitment to supporting Zimbabwe beyond sport, with cricket providing a platform to connect communities both locally and across the diaspora.
“This renewal is about more than sponsorship visibility. It is about investing in a partnership that brings communities together, celebrates Zimbabwean excellence and creates meaningful connections with fans,” said Mukuru spokesperson Kevin Nyakotyo.
“Zimbabwe has been part of Mukuru’s story for more than two decades, and this partnership reflects our confidence in the country’s future. Cricket has a unique ability to unite people across borders, aligning perfectly with Mukuru’s purpose of connecting communities through trusted financial services.”
Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni described the renewed agreement as a significant endorsement of the organisation’s long-term vision.
“Their continued support comes at a defining moment for Zimbabwean cricket as we build towards hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2027,” said Makoni.
“This renewed commitment gives us confidence to continue investing in the game, strengthening our national teams and creating memorable experiences for our supporters, while showcasing Zimbabwe on one of cricket’s biggest stages.”
The partnership, first launched in 2024, now enters a new phase that will accompany Zimbabwe’s journey to the global showpiece, providing continuity as the Chevrons seek success on the international stage.
For Zimbabwe Cricket, the extension represents not only financial backing but also growing confidence from the corporate sector as the country prepares to welcome the world’s best cricket nations in 2027.
