Bonaqua Floods Rusape Tollgate with Hydration, Free Passage Ahead of Troutbeck Triathlon

LEADING bottled water brand Bonaqua has taken over the Rusape Tollgate to offer motorists a seamless journey into the Eastern Highlands on Friday.
Between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM today, March 13, the Coca-Cola-backed brand is covering all toll fees for private vehicles entering Manicaland, ensuring the road to the mountains is as refreshing as the destination itself.
This initiative, spearheaded by Delta’s corporate social responsibility wing, serves as a high-impact curtain-raiser for the highly anticipated 12th edition of the Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup, which kicks off tomorrow at the Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga. Motorists passing through the gates during this four-hour window are not only greeted with a waived fee but also receive a complimentary bottle of Bonaqua to encourage safe driving and peak hydration during the final stretch of their trip.
The company stated that the move is deeply rooted in its commitment to promoting health and wellness across Zimbabwe. By removing the financial friction of the tollgate and placing water directly into the hands of travellers, the brand aims to foster a culture of safety on the roads while supporting the local community that hosts one of the continent’s most prestigious sporting events.
The excitement on the road mirrors the intensity expected at Troutbeck this weekend, where the stakes are higher than ever. All eyes are on Australia-based Zimbabwean athlete Andie Kuipers, who is set to lead the nation’s elite challenge in the women’s category.
Kuipers is currently on a mission to secure vital points toward qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, making this edition of the Cup a critical milestone in her professional career.
Beyond the elite competition, the event is designed to be a family-friendly festival of fitness. The weekend itinerary includes high-stakes races for junior athletes and a heavy dose of entertainment for spectators. Renowned fitness expert Zorro is scheduled to lead two high-energy Zumba sessions, intended to keep the crowd’s energy as high as the athletes’ spirits.
As the tollgate initiative winds down this afternoon, the focus shifts entirely to the frigid waters and challenging inclines of Nyanga.
Whether for the casual traveller or the dedicated sports fan, the weekend has officially begun with a splash of corporate generosity that highlights Bonaqua’s enduring partnership with Zimbabwean sport and community well-being.
