THE Sterling Group of Hotels has officially sent off Zimbabwean golfers Samson Mavunga and Tadeous Lazaro as they head to the International Pairs World Finals in South Africa.
The event runs from October 6 to 10 at the Sun International Golf Course.
Mavunga and Lazaro secured their spot after winning the Zimbabwe finals on September 27 at Mulota Hill Golf Club in Mhondoro Ngezi. The pair came out on top of a field of 142 players representing 30 clubs across the country.
Sterling Group sponsored the event for the second year in a row, with this year’s edition played under the theme “Tee off for travel, discover the beauty of Zimbabwe.”
“We are delighted to have participated in an event that is so perfectly in sync with our core aspirations of supporting sports tourism and showcasing Zimbabwe as a premier destination,” said Wilbert Manyika, the Executive Chairman for the Sterling Group. “This tournament is a fantastic platform to blend the excitement of competitive golf with the allure of our nation’s diverse tourism offerings.”
The group expressed gratitude to its partners Albatros Golf Company, the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality, and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority along with new sponsors First Link Insurance, First Capital Bank, Art Effects of Bulawayo, and VTU Platinum Lodge of Mhondoro Ngezi.
