Jiti Giant is back to take his throne says Baba Harare

IN a remarkable turn of events that has thrilled nostalgic music lovers and intrigued a new generation of fans, one of Zimbabwe’s favorite modern star, Braveman “Baba Harare” Chizvino, has made a sensational return to the Jiti genre as he announces his upcoming album.

At 36, Baba Harare is defying both age and time and rekindling a flame that once illuminated the local jiti musical landscape in the late 1970s and his tenure in 2017.

A former lead guitar of the superstar Jah Prayzah and founding member of City Vibration Band, Baba Harare is preparing to release an album marking his return from gospel music to jiti music where he gained popularity.

Baba Harare rose to fame in 2017 with the release of the hit ‘Reason Why’ and its popular flip-side track ‘Connie. The record, gained him all the gold, as it brought financial income, making him a household name on different live shows.

His journey later took him to be a gospel musician where he changed his name from Baba Harare to King David. This decision made a lot of controversy around some of his fans. Some believed he was a new baptised soul and some believed he was after a lady he loved who wanted a gospel church person.

Marking his return to Jiti music, as it is now almost a year since he had joined gospel music he has promised music lovers a beautiful album aiming to take his throne back in the music scene.

Based in Harare, The Reason Why hitmaker is as vibrant and passionate about music as ever.

“I feel I still have the energy to play the guitar and compose music. I know many people wonder where I am and what I am up to.

“It has been an awesome journey in gospel music. I feel very fit and I feel I still have a whole lot more to offer in Jiti music.

“I am confident that these new album will be a hit. Music is in my blood, in fact, it never left me. I spend much of my time writing songs and on the guitar.

“A guitar is my friend. I am sure by re-establishing to my the old songs, I will take fans down memory lane. It’s a beautiful feeling.”

This comes after he posted on his social media, yesterday that “Good morning Jiti family. Shoko rasvika. lam coming back to assume my righful throne. Hazviite kuti musare musina Baba. Album loading…”

Baba Harare is well known for his versatile classic songs such as Pamuchato wangu, Ahee, Rita featuring Mai Titi, Prove them wrong featuring Voltz JT, Ndini Ndinaye featuring Gemma Griffiths, Haubvire featuring Jah Prayzah among others.
