MUSA, Dzimbahwe Nengoma March Into Chibuku National Finals

MUSA from Masvingo and Dzimbahwe Nengoma from Mashonaland Central booked their places in the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival national finals after emerging winners in their respective provincial competitions held on Saturday.

The Masvingo provincial finals took place at Tafara Madondo Hotel in Gutu, where MUSA won top honours with a captivating Bira revadzimu performance that stood out among the competing groups.

Africa Musical Arts Village came second with the Mbakumba dance, while Dzimbadzamabwe Traditional Dance Group finished third after performing the Jukwa dance.

In Mashonaland Central, the provincial finals were held at The Groove Bar in Mt Darwin. Dzimbahwe Nengoma claimed first prize with their energetic Chinyambera dance routine.

Guruve Chinyakare secured second place through their performance of the Dinhe dance, while Bindura HideOut Zambia Nyau took third position with the traditional Zambia Nyau dance.

The provincial competitions formed part of the nationwide Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival, which celebrates Zimbabwe’s diverse cultural heritage through traditional music and dance.

The winning groups will now advance to the national finals scheduled for July 11, where they will compete against top performers from other provinces for the ultimate title and top prizes.
