Zimbabwe to Host Namibia in Pre-Qualifier T20I Series

ZIMBABWE Cricket has confirmed that the senior men’s national team will host Namibia in a three-match Twenty20 international series at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo next week.

The matches are scheduled for 15, 16, and 18 September.

Both sides are using the series as a final tune-up ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier, set to be played in Harare from 26 September to 4 October. Eight teams will compete in the regional event, with the top two securing spots at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe will field the same squad that recently took Sri Lanka to the limit in a thrilling three-match T20I series at Harare Sports Club, which ended 2-1 in favor of the visitors.

Head Coach Justin Sammons said the series is a key opportunity to build momentum and sharpen preparations. “It’s important that we build on the positives from the Sri Lanka series, and facing Namibia will give us exactly the kind of contest we need before the qualifier,” Sammons said. “They are a quality team who have consistently performed well in this format, so these matches will demand our very best. For us, it’s about refining our plans, getting combinations right, and making sure we go into the qualifier confident and battle-hardened.”

Fans will be able to watch all three matches at Queens Sports Club free of charge.
