Winky D Headlines Castle Lager Braai Day Festival at Glamis Arena

ZIMBABWEAN music heavyweight Winky D will headline this year’s Castle Lager Braai Day Festival at Glamis Arena in Harare on October 17, joining a star-studded line-up that includes Ex Q and Enzo Ishall.
The annual festival, organised by Delta Beverages through its Castle Lager brand, will bring together some of the country’s leading musicians, emerging performers and braai enthusiasts for a day of live entertainment and social activities.
More than 10 local artists and DJs are expected to perform, with rising talents Jnr Spragga, Atenda Chinx and DJ Loz among those sharing the stage with established names.
Winky D’s inclusion gives the festival one of Zimbabwe’s biggest crowd-pullers, while Ex Q and Enzo Ishall add to a programme designed to appeal to different generations of music lovers.
The organisers say the combination of established performers and upcoming artists is part of Castle Lager’s commitment to promoting local talent and giving emerging musicians exposure alongside some of the industry’s most recognisable names.
Beyond the musical performances, this year’s festival will introduce a new attraction dubbed Castle Braai O’Clock, an interactive experience scheduled between 3pm and 4pm.
The hour-long activation will feature a braai master competition and other activities, with participants standing a chance to win Castle Lager merchandise and additional prizes.
The initiative is expected to add a competitive element to the festival’s traditional celebration of Zimbabwe’s braai culture, giving attendees an opportunity to participate in activities beyond watching live performances.
Delta Beverages has also lined up nationwide promotional activities at selected popular braai venues ahead of the main event.
Through these activations, consumers will have opportunities to win festival tickets, Castle Lager products and other prizes as the company builds anticipation for the October 17 gathering.
Tickets are already available through SahwiGate, with a limited number of early-bird tickets selling for US$10 before the price increases to US$15.
Each ticket includes entry to the festival, a braai pack and one litre of Castle Lager Draught.
The ticket package is designed to make the braai experience part of the admission offering rather than an entirely separate activity.
The return of the festival to Glamis Arena also places Zimbabwean music at the centre of a lifestyle event that combines entertainment, food and social interaction.
For emerging performers such as Jnr Spragga and Atenda Chinx, the occasion offers an opportunity to reach audiences drawn by some of the country’s biggest entertainers.
Delta Beverages said the festival would celebrate music, braai culture and shared experiences, with the company looking forward to welcoming consumers to Glamis Arena for this year’s edition.
