TRAVELLERS heading to this year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) are set to get some relief on the country’s busy highways, after Minute Maid introduced a promotion offering free tollgate access and complimentary drinks.
The initiative, called “Tollgate Happy Hour,” will see 500 light motor vehicle drivers pass through the Ntabazinduna Tollgate without paying on April 19 and April 26, between 9am and 11am.
The move comes as traffic volumes increase during the ZITF period, with thousands of visitors travelling to and from Bulawayo for the annual exhibition.
In addition to free toll access, motorists will receive Minute Maid beverages in a variety of flavours, including Orange, Tropical, Apple Grape and Guava, providing refreshment during long journeys.
Organisers say the campaign is meant to improve the travel experience while engaging directly with consumers at a time when they need convenience the most.
Coca-Cola East and Central Africa Senior Marketing Manager Faith Nehanda said the promotion is focused on making travel smoother during peak periods.
“We understand that ZITF brings heavy traffic on the roads. This initiative is about easing that pressure, while also giving travellers something refreshing along the way,” she said.
The campaign is being rolled out in partnership with the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA), which manages tollgate operations across the country.
ZITF remains one of Zimbabwe’s largest economic and business events, drawing exhibitors and visitors from across the region. With increased road traffic expected, such interventions are likely to be welcomed by motorists facing long queues and travel fatigue.
Minute Maid, a brand under The Coca-Cola Company, says the promotion also reflects its ongoing efforts to connect with consumers through simple, everyday experiences.
