Jnr Spragga lands US$50 000 Scottland FC ambassadorial deal

ZIMDANCEHALL musician Jnr Spragga has landed a lucrative brand ambassadorial deal with Scottland FC reportedly worth US$50 000 and a new truck, at a time his hit song Daka is enjoying considerable traction on digital platforms.
Scottland FC president Scott Sakupwanya unveiled the musician as the club’s brand ambassador this week, handing him the vehicle and cash as part of the partnership.
The deal strengthens the growing relationship between sport and entertainment, with Scottland seeking to leverage Spragga’s rising profile and appeal among young audiences to grow its brand.
Spragga celebrated the breakthrough on social media, describing the deal as a dream come true.
“It felt like a dream at first,” he wrote on Facebook.
“Ndaifunga kuti ihope but ndamuka manje! I just wanna take this moment to thank Boss Scott and Scottland FC for making me the brand ambassador of your brand and thank you so much for the amazing gifts that you have given me.”
The endorsement comes during a purple patch for Spragga, whose Daka was sitting second on YouTube’s trending music chart in Zimbabwe.
The song has helped propel the musician further into the spotlight as he continues establishing himself among the prominent names in the competitive Zimdancehall genre.
Spragga has also attracted attention with songs including Tinodanana, Mhukahuru, Ndiye, featuring Leo Magozz, Ndokudai neMoyo and Kuchena, featuring Atenda Chinx.
For Scottland, the partnership represents another attempt to expand the football club’s identity beyond the pitch by tapping into popular culture and the entertainment industry.
Football clubs have increasingly used musicians, influencers and other personalities with strong followings to reach audiences beyond traditional supporters, particularly younger fans active on digital platforms.
Spragga’s growing social media presence and current musical success could therefore provide Scottland with another avenue to market the club as it seeks to strengthen its profile.
For the musician, the US$50 000 deal represents one of the biggest endorsements of his rising career and comes as his music continues to attract a wider audience.
The combination of his commercial breakthrough and the success of Daka marks a significant period for Spragga, who now has an opportunity to translate his growing popularity into a stronger presence beyond music.
His appointment also further illustrates the increasing convergence between Zimbabwe’s football and entertainment industries, with clubs looking beyond results on the pitch in the battle to grow their brands and attract new supporters.
