Two-year sponsorship deal for Northern Region Division One League

LM Auctions to award outstanding players

TWO match days in, ZIFA Northern Region Division One League received a shot in the arm as the league secured sponsorship from LM Auctions for individual prizes for the next two seasons.

The deal, another coup by the Northern Region Division One leadership in their growing portfolio of multi-sponsorship deals, was unveiled yesterday in Harare.

LM Auctions will each month reward the outstanding player with US$200 and the player of the season will walk away US$1000 richer as the sponsor tries make second-tier league more competitive.

First and second runner up in the Player of the Year category will walk away with US$600 and U$400 respectively.

Northern Region Division One has over the years continued to attract sponsorship which has become the envy of many including the top flight, Premier Soccer League.

Whilst the deal is for an initial two years, LM Auctions are in it for the long haul to complement the efforts by Division’s leadership who have overseen thrilling title championships.

“We said let’s just come in and assist the Northern Region because I have seen some positive changes in the way they conduct their business over the years. I admired how they were operating over the last five years so I decided that let’s just be part of it,” said Luis Mazhara, owner of LM Auctions.

“The reason why I am doing this as a company and as an individual, is because of my passion for football. We just thought we need to assist these youngsters so that we take them off the streets and inspire them to push themselves and produce their best,” he said.

LM Auctions also have the girl child at heart, they also sponsor the Midlands-based Chapungu women’s football side.

Martin Kweza chairman of Northern Region, the man who has been behind the sourcing of sponsorship in a tough operating local environment, couldn’t hide his joy at the sponsorship unveiling ceremony and thanked their latest partners, LM Auctions for coming onboard.

“We are doing what we are good at, which is managing our football. We want to give LM Auctions the best deal. You will not regret it and you will get value for your money. We want to thank LM Auctions for this kind gesture. This will go a long way to motivate our players to aim high and compete for these individual prizes,” said Kweza.
