Wadiwa Wepa Moyo Season 3 Put on Pause – What’s Next?

IN a heartbreaking blow to the local entertainment fans, the much-awaited production of Season 3 of the widely-acclaimed online drama series, “Wadiwa Wepa Moyo” has been called off indefinitely.

The unexpected halt, confirmed by EnterSportNews, comes as the series grapples with a lack of funding, leaving its dedicated audience in suspense and longing for the next chapter in this beloved Zimbabwean story.

This unfortunate news does not come as a complete surprise. In April last year, EnterSportNews reported that the production of the third season was hanging in the balance owing to financial constraints. The budget for the new season has swelled, and the team has been unable to raise the required funds.

Kudakwashe Jani, Head of Production for College Central, confirmed the development but insisted that the production team is still working on the project. He explained, “We are just moving on and not hanging everything on the production of Wadiwa. The budget is quite big now, so we have not been able to raise the funds.”

The production team’s efforts to find sponsorship and advertisers to bankroll Season 3 have yet to be successful. But Jani remains hopeful for the series’ future, stating, “If we could be able to raise the money, I am sure we can do another season, but for now, we are just moving our focus elsewhere.”

The leader actor, Everson K Chieza (Man Tawa), also weighed in on the news, ensuring fans that this is not the end of their creative journey.

“We are shooting our next project. Hopefully, Zimbabwe will have our backs,” he added.

“Wadiwa Wepa Moyo” made a splash when it debuted in 2020, attracting a lot of online attention in just a few days. The drama follows two boys from the dusty streets of Harare, Tawanda (Man Tawa) and Biko, who dream of playing for Manchester United in the United Kingdom. Their lives take a turn when Tawanda falls in love with Nokuthula.

The main cast includes Dillon Mafukidze (Biko), Tadiwa Bopoto (Nokuthula), Ben Mahaka, Lee McHoney, and Monalisa Tendere.

While fans may have to wait for a potential resurrection of “Wadiwa Wepa Moyo,” the talents behind the show are not letting financial hurdles hold them back from pursuing other creative projects. The series’ future may be uncertain, but the creators’ passion for storytelling is undiminished.
