Havenhill Academy Targets Career Confusion With ACCA Open Day

THOUSANDS of Zimbabwean students leave school each year uncertain about career choices and professional pathways, particularly in fields such as finance and accounting, where information is often limited.

Havenhill Academy hopes to address that gap through a free ACCA Career Open Day scheduled for 12 June at Nexus Hall, Batanai Gardens Mall in Harare.

The event, which runs from 2 pm to 5 pm, will bring together senior figures in the accounting profession, regulation, and leadership development to explain the ACCA qualification and the career opportunities linked to it.

Among the speakers will be ACCA Zimbabwe country head Takesure Famba, Public Accountants and Auditors Board member Dr Tagarira Mutenga, leadership coach Noah Mangwarara, and Havenhill Training and Consulting principal officer Partson Nyatanga.

According to Nyatanga, the programme is aimed at school leavers, university students, working professionals, and parents seeking a clearer understanding of the globally recognised qualification.

“We want to give people the full picture — the exams, the ethics, the experience requirement, and what comes after,” he said.

The ACCA qualification is recognised in more than 180 countries and allows professionals to work internationally without rewriting professional examinations.

To qualify as a Chartered Certified Accountant, candidates must complete examinations, an ethics module, and a Practical Experience Requirement.

Nyatanga said the event is also designed to bridge the information gap that often prevents young people from pursuing professional qualifications.

“ACCA is a key that opens the world. But first, you need to understand how the key works,” Nyatanga said.

Havenhill Academy holds ACCA Gold Approved Learning Provider status and has consistently recorded strong pass rates among its students.

Attendance is free and open to the public.

Those interested can register by calling or sending WhatsApp messages to 0773 625 247 or 0776 624 566.
