A new pathway to international football could open for Zimbabwe’s emerging stars next month when Total Football Academy hosts the Total Football International Showcase 2026, bringing FIFA-accredited agents and international scouts to Harare.
Scheduled for 4–11 July, the week-long showcase is designed to connect promising local players with professional opportunities beyond Zimbabwe’s borders.
The event will cater for two age groups: junior players aged 13 to 17 and senior players aged 18 to 22, giving talented footballers a chance to impress experienced international talent evaluators.
Leading the scouting team will be FIFA-accredited Malaysian football agent Akash Ashraf Bin Abdullah alongside Nigerian football scout Obinna Joseph Obinna, both of whom are expected to identify players with the potential to progress into professional football.
Akash is widely respected not only for representing players but also for organizing international friendly matches and building football partnerships across different countries. His presence is expected to expose Zimbabwean talent to wider football networks and opportunities.
Total Football Academy Executive Chairman Tatenda Madzingo said the showcase is about removing one of the biggest obstacles facing talented local players—limited exposure.
“Zimbabwe is blessed with exceptional football talent. What many of our young players lack is the opportunity to be seen by the right people. This showcase brings international decision-makers directly to Zimbabwe and creates a platform where talent can meet opportunity,” said Madzingo.
Technical Director Gilbert Mushangazhike urged aspiring footballers to take advantage of what he described as a career-defining opportunity.
“Players rarely get the chance to perform in front of international football professionals without leaving the country. This showcase offers exactly that. We encourage every eligible player to seize this opportunity and give their best,” he said.
Throughout the week, participants will take part in talent identification matches, technical assessments and player evaluations, while also engaging with international football stakeholders. The academy expects entries from clubs, academies and independent players from across Zimbabwe.
Founded in 2011, Total Football Academy has built a reputation for developing young footballers while promoting discipline, character and professional growth.
Organizers hope the International Showcase will become a flagship annual event that strengthens Zimbabwe’s football development structures while creating direct pathways for local talent to reach the global game.
